TERRON

4 MONTHS - SPRING 2019

DESIGN STATEMENT: Design a bag that can be used on a short weekend trip for a young adult. Needs to be modular in order to respond to the changing and varied needs of the user. Keeping in mind that different parts of the bag may be used at different times the individual parts of the bag need to be able to function both together and apart.

Tech Pack + Takeaways

TERRON / 4 MONTHS / INDIVIDUAL RIT
  • I realized that paper models are invaluable when addressing size questions

  • I learned that stopping and reflecting between each phase of prototyping helped me to slow down and assess what I wanted to most address next

  • I discovered it fits perfectly under the seat on an airplane!

  • I plan on making  a prototype out of the production material, as well as adding a lining and more inner pockets for additional storage of small items

  • Zippers DO NOT curve (no matter how much you wish they might) and my peers make some pretty damn cool bags

Next Steps

TERRON / 4 MONTHS / INDIVIDUAL RIT
  • Material to create a final working prototype has been generously supplied by the team at True North Gear in Seattle, WA

  • Upon purchasing hardware for this build and revising the current design based on feedback I will work to create the next version of the Terron Backpack
